Tuition

As a Tutor my aim is to make learning to paint APPROACHABLE & FUN & INFORMAL, "Fun & Informative Painting" is my motto. I also use Art as Therapy for re-habilitation needs. Art is indeed a therapy to us all an my Workshops & classes cater for all abilities.
I provide a selection of weekly Painting Classes short courses around the Tyneside area. These groups are usually filled with regular people who come over and over again because they become an enjoyable social outlet and a bit of 'you time' in busy lives.
I also deliver Painting Workshops & demonstrations across the Northern Counties, Border regions, Midlands & Scotland working in Watercolours & Acrylic. I use Creative and tradional approaches to Watercolour painting and demonstrate in Acrylic both Interactive and conventional and Water-mixable oil and mixed media too.
All can include techniques of the FUNNY BRUSHES. I import this amazing creation from Lesnick Art products the USA.

Biography

My paintings are inspired from my love of the country landscape, the trees and meadows, the animals who live there, my horse's and dogs too. Riding and walking are great ways to absorb the countryside. I am fortunate to live in an interesting area with lovely countryside and fantastic coastlines on my door step.
Painting is my hobby aswell as my work. It's my therapy and chill out time. I continue to explore and change my own style and techniques, it keeps painting interesting and i love to be spontaneous, and Watercolour is a fantastic medium for that.

I'm an experienced Artist and qualified Tutor having spent a number of years teaching in colleges and for other learning organisations before becoming self employed in 2006.
I deliver Art as a Therapy and it is really great for keeping our minds and hearts healthy.. it's therapeutic benefits are immense. I also believe it's not just what you get out of art by way of end product, but more about the pleasure you get from creating it along the way.

I'm as passionate about teaching as I am about painting. I really love to inspire and encourage.  I base my success on providing FUN & INFORMATIVE classes and workshops.I believe that painting should be FUN at all levels.

Thanks to the SAA you can now have a taste of my teaching techniques via my web-clips. I am available for Art Club demos and workshops and you'll find me much more relaxed in person than I was with cameras and lights.
