I run regular workshops in encaustic art, at various levels. Most courses are for beginners, although some people come again and again for the social aspect of the course. Other courses are for intermediate and advanced levels.

I have no formal art qualifications but have always enjoyed art from an early age. I was encouraged a few years ago by a relative, to spend more time producing artwork, I therefore went onto various one day workshops to learn watercolour techniques. I decided to take up watercolour painting seriously and have not looked back since.
My favourite subject for watercolour is flowers. I have produced quite a few paintings on commission but mostly produce whatever flower is in season. I sell originals, prints and greetings cards.
I love the translucent effect that watercolour gives and as there are always flowers of some sort around, I am never short of something to paint!
Two years ago I started working in encaustic wax and enjoy it tremendously as the pictures are very quick (in comparison to watercolours) to produce.
I produce abstract, fantasy and landscapes with this medium, depending on the mood I am in or whether I am just using the iron or my hotplate.
I also run very successful workshops in encaustic wax, showing people how easily they can produce wonderful pieces without the need to draw first.
I do occasionally work in acrylics when the mood takes me, usually producing abstracts.
