Biography
Carl Thompson is an award winning artist, illustrator and demonstrator with a portfolio of work extending from still life to portraiture to wildlife. Carl has a growing reputation for his versatility and style and the energy that emanates from his work. Carl's dedication and hard work has been rewarded in winning a number of awards and accolades including the 2009 TWASI David Shepherd award alongside becoming a finalist in the 2009 BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year. His work work can be found in a number of private collections.
Carl will spend many hours researching his subject even before a single ‘brushstroke' is made. ‘I strive to be faithful to my subjects, showing the character and essence in a realistic manner. My aim is to create artwork that has meaning and value, to be enjoyed for a lifetime'
Carl's practical's article published in the 2009 September edition of Artist and Illustrators magazine showed him demonstrating his 'PAINTING WITH AIR' technique.
Carl is happy to accept both private and commercial commissions. He is also available for demonstrations of his 'painting with air' technique.

1-11th April, The Wildlife Artist Society International Exhibition, Port Lympne Wildlife Animal Park.
28th May-6th June, The Wildlife Artist Society International Annual Exhibition, Nature in Art, Twigworth,Glouchester. I will be demonstrating on 5th June.
16th Jul- 1st Aug, National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, Gordale, Chester. One of the largest exhibitions of wildlife art in the UK.
