Tuition
I have a BA (Hon) Degree from Liverpool John Moores University Art School and a FAETC (Further and Adult Education Teaching Certificate). I teach basic, intermediate and advanced drawing and painting skills at Liverpool Adult Learning Services. I can also teach basic Photoshop and Painter techniques.
I am also a demonstrator, I travel to numerous art clubs and societies including small business in the North West and central parts of the UK and North Wales teaching workshops and demonstrations on painting techniques. I have done a number of workshops for the Artist & Illustrator Magazine. I am also available for private art tuition, please give me a call for details.
My workshops are at The Sandpiper Studio which is in the beautiful surroundings of Foxes Farm and Riding School, Badgers Rake Lane in Ledsham, South Wirral CH66 8PF. Each workshop usually lasts for six hours but weekend workshops can be arranged.
As for accommodation for those people who are out of the area. There are two hotels very close to the studio, one actually backs onto the grounds of the studio and is called Inglewood Manor.

Biography
I am a self-taught artist and I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, I paint traditional subjects but specialise in portraiture.
My favourite medium is oil paints but I am familiar with most other mediums including coloured pencils, pastel pencils, pastel, etc.
These last couple of years have seen a major change in my way of painting partially due to the limited amount of space I have at home, my new medium is “Digital painting with pixels if you like, now my workstation comprises of an office desk, a G5 PowerMac computer, two monitors, a Wacom Intuos graphics tablet and a printer with a facility to print directly onto printable CDs or DVDs The software packages I use are; Adobe CS 2.3 which includes Photoshop which is the application I use to paint with as well as many other interesting things, and Corel Painter X this is my preferred application for painting digitally.
Rather than print artwork onto my own printer which is too small for what I do anyway I send my finished artwork by email using an application called Pando to a professional printer who uses the printing methods called “Giclee to print onto canvas and top quality papers, size is also not an issue, a maximum of 40 inches high to any length. You can send large files upto 3 GIG using Pando, for more details regarding this application, go to:www.pando.com Does all this new technology mean that I have given up on the traditional mediums altogether? not on your life, if anything it has given me more power to express myself.
When I am teaching I still use traditional mediums such as oils, watercolour, pastel pencils, pastels, pencil and the wonderful new acrylic paint called "Atelier Interactive"etc., after all, what is art? …it's creating images using any material you can lay your hands on isn't it?
