Following many years of professional teaching within an Art School environment leading to becoming Head of School. Ben left the academic world to concentrate on painting full time, in response to demand he set up and runs his own painting course in Surrey now in it's 14th year.
He also lectures and gives appraisals workshops and demonstrations to Art Groups
across a wide variety of subjects and with a range of mediums.

Ben worked for many years in the Art and Design profession and was Head of School at Reigate School of Art before leaving in 1998 to concentrate on painting full time.
His work is shown regularly at The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours at The Mall Galleries and The Royal Society of Marine Artists.His paintings were also selected for the Singer and Friedlander Sunday Times Watercolour Competition and the New English Art Society Exhibitions.
He was featured in the Artists and Illustrators Magazine demonstrating his working methods,
and also in the editorial' The British Landscape' for the Magazine International Artist. reproducing a series of his painting in a book on 'Skies and Clouds in Watercolour'.
Paintings from his 'Venice' series and working methods were shown in the The Artist magazine.
Available now from S.AA are two instructional DVDs. Titled How to be a Better Painter. each with an accompanying workshop book.
Ben has a joint exhibition with his Wife in June and July each year at the Denbies Vineyard Gallery in Dorking Surrey.
He has exhibited regularly at the Mall Galleries with the R.I. the R.S.M.A. and also the New English Art Club. and the Sunday Times Singer Friedlander Watercolour exhibition.
He also shows at selected Galleries around the country
Ben won the Classic Boat Award at the Royal Society of Marine Artists and also the Rowland Hilder Award at The Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour
