Iain is a hospital doctor who has worked in the Royal Navy and the NHS. He has been ?playing? with various painting media for what seems like a long time, as a way of relaxing during a busy working life. Initially self taught he has been inspired by many artists, but in watercolour especially by Ted Wesson, David Curtis, and David Bellamy. Some workshops with John Hoar succeeded in loosening his painting. He has also had lots of practical help from Rob and Sian Dudley of Moor to Sea Arts in Ivybridge, and thinks he is getting better at making the finished painting look more like what was in his head when he started.
He is still learning and experimenting but gradually a style of his own is emerging. He says he would probably get bored painting the same things in the same way all the time.
He has been a member of the Buckland Art Group for 6 years. He has exhibited at Buckland Monachorum, at Harbour House Gallery, Kingsbridge, and at Duchy Arts Centre, Princetown. He has undertaken commissioned work.
Original paintings and some prints are available direct from the artist, or through some West Country galleries.
