TUITION: Art lessons with me, Kirstin White, are structured to cover technical watercolour painting skills, picture composition and creativity. With frequent demonstrations, examples from art history, some finished picture making and many practical exercises constituting the courses, students have fun with the learning process and make steady progress.

A full time artist, based in Botley, Hampshire, UK, I very much enjoy teaching drawing and painting to adults and have been tutoring in Art and Watercolour Painting since September 2005.

My regular course venue is Botley Market Hall, 11 High Street, Botley, Southampton, Hampshire, SO30 2EA, UK. While most courses are held in similar hired spaces, some groups or individuals also work from private homes, or outdoors, on location, here in the South of England. In addition to the regular, on-going classes, short courses begin frequently.

Specialising in watercolour painting and life drawing

 

PAINTINGS: On the spot paintings of wedding receptions, parties, fairs, fetes, sporting events etc. ‘En plein air’, landscapes, seascapes, townscapes and crowd scenes. Portraits of houses, buildings, boats, bridges etc. Interiors, figures, still life. Commissions are welcome. Have your event or favourite location depicted in watercolour.

 

My paintings are available for sale and make ideal gifts. The Gallery shows a representative sample of my work, there are many more examples on general exhibition and at my studio. Choose from images painted in Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham, Chichester, Salisbury, Hampshire, West Sussex, Dorset, Wiltshire, Snowdonia, The New Forest, Southampton Water, The Solent and On-board Ship.

 

Prices start at £145 for signed, mounted and framed originals. Commissioned paintings from £250. Gift vouchers are available for paintings and commissions.

 

 

 

 

INFLUENCES: I am inspired by the work of Ivon Hitchens, Albert Irvin, Robert Bevan, Ben Nicholson, John Piper, Franz Marc, Janet Q Treloar, Betty Rapson, Ken Howard and Trevor Chamberlain among others.
