Tuition

My ideas for my art classes are for everyone to enjoy the class, finish a picture every week (hopefully), have a few hours of total relaxation and a cup of tea thrown in, made by me..To learn something new every week and to have confidence in their ability to do anything they put their minds to, with a little help from me.
I want people to realise that they can paint, even if they cannot draw well. I use cheat sheets (traceable drawings), not always but I feel that if you want to learn to draw you can go to school to do that, my class is about enjoyment and not Artistic Certificates.
I promise to show you how to paint a great picture with the least fuss and bother, no suffering for your art.
It doesnt matter if you have never painting before or if you have been painting for years and fancy trying acrylics, the classes I run can help you do what you want but with some fun thrown in.

Biography

Hi my name is Barbara Hunt and I run classes in the Coventry and Warwickshire area. I love wet on wet oil painting and acrylics, these mediums take the pain out of art. It makes painting easy and enjoyable and anyone, yes anyone can do it. I started to draw as a child but never went to art school, as my mum said I had to get a proper job, so off to secretary school I went.
I have always been involved with arts and crafts. I made my own dresses most of my early life and when the children came along was involved in the childrens school helping out.It was my husband who started to paint in watercolour. He bought all the brushes and books and paper and studied for a year or two, then fishing took over. One day he said to me why dont you start up painting again, but being a mum I couldnt justify all the money it would take to start up, but its all there in the attic for you, he said, so off I went and never looked back.
I went to watercolour classes for a number of years but experimented with inks, charcoal, and acrylics. I realised that acrylics was for me, and with encouragement from my teacher (Julie Hyde), I started classes in Meriden, then Coventry.
