Andy Quelch
Andy Quelch was born in Gloucester in 1969 and was brought up near Chepstow in the beautiful Wye Valley.
Andy is qualified to degree level as an illustrator and spent many years illustrating children’s books whilst based near London at Surbiton. But suburban life was not for him so he returned to his childhood home near Chepstow and carried on illustrating books.
On returning home the landlord of his local pub encouraged him to go beating on one of the local shoots near Lydney. Andy was hooked and was going whenever he could. He attended every week, always with his camera in his pocket.
Andy’s passion has always been the countryside, regularly watching the Curre & Llangibby hunt in his local area. Andy started to paint using his experiences from beating and watching the hounds meet. He found that he enjoyed this work much more than illustrating and started to receive commissions.
Now living in Caldicot near Chepstow, Andy’s time is spent painting and fulfilling commissions.
He successfully exhibits at local game fairs and country shows, mainly around the South Wales / South West area.
