Tuition

Allan offers friendly, informal tuition, support and encouragement at weekly classes in SW Scotland AND EDINBURGH. Also, 1- day and weekend workshops at his studio in a converted church in the remote and stunning landscape of SW Scotland. Available for demonstrations and residential workshops throughout the UK. Happening now, Summer one day workshops for 2012 - spaces available.

 

Biography

Allan is a professional artist and tutor who paints in watercolours covering a wide range of subjects including Scottish landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and nature. Recently, he travelled with backpack and sketchbook to India, Nepal, Tibet, Australia and New Zealand. He gained lots inspiration to create a series of paintings of his journey to remote and stunning landscapes around the world.

He is a self-taught artist, who spent twenty years learning his craft before rounding of his art education with an Advanced Diploma in Art and Design in 1998.

Allan's love of the great outdoors that was kindled in early life living in Galloway, Scotland, is matched by his concern for the environment, and as a result worked for several years as a Senior Ranger conserving the Scottish countryside that he now paints.
